Pasqua have established an enviable reputation for excellence after almost a century of the finest Veneto vintages. Montepulciano d'Abruzzo are enjoyed throughout the world of wine for their food friendly nature, deliciously dry, savoury palate and delicate, affable tannins. Pasqua take the pick of fruit from the choicest Abruzzo vineyards and match the quality of harvest with a minimalist vinification aimed at retaining the character and charm. Match with meats and Italian style recipes, a bliss alongside piquantly seasoned cheeses or well hung game. Parcels of Montepulciano grapes are harvested off choice sites, planted to calcareous clay soils astride the most scenic, undulating landscapes of Abruzzo. Batches are crushed and treated to a period of cold maceration for optimal extractions of colour and tannin, followed by a traditional vinification at 25C to 28C, regularly plunged and pumped over in controlled fermenters. Upon completion, components are sent for a course of malolactic, rackings for clarification and term of bottle age.
TASTING NOTESBright purple red. Aromatic nose of red apples, bramble and glace fruits, anise and elegant spice over a background of coffee licorice notes.
