A beguiling and elegant wine, grapefruit characters define a citrus acid core, structural and textural, juicy with lemon pith phenolics providing great mouthfeel and length of flavour. Bin 311 offers profound varietal definition and seamless integration.

Tumbarumba is one of Australia's most exciting cool climate, high altitude viticultural districts. Penfolds has worked with Chardonnay here since the early 1990s. Attractive ripe citrus flavours develop in the grapes, while hanging onto delicate acidity, translating into a wine with excellent balance and finesse. The Bin 311 style typically expresses a mineral acid backbone, complemented by barrel fermentation and maturation in seasoned oak. The hand harvested grapes are brought to the winery in pristine condition. Minimal filtration is employed, preserving the elegant fruit flavours. The finished wine is matured several months in a selection of prior use French oak barriques.
