The stump jump plough worked so well in McLaren Vale that it was adopted worldwide in the late 19th century because of its ability to ride over stumps and gnarled roots. A mix of varietals which have proved themselves to be a popular blend right from the very first release. Fruit is picked at different levels of ripeness from a network of fine vineyards. Grapes are gently crushed and pressed into controlled fermenters for inoculation, some parcels are treated to partial vinification on skins. Upon completion, batches are taken to the tasting bench, more of a table really, where the team determine the final blend, bottled without any oak maturation to retain vital expressions of fresh grapes off the vine.
