d'Arenberg have made some of Australia's most memorable wines, achieving cult status amongst imbibers and judges since the 1960s,Jimmy Watson Trophy winners in 1969. Stump Jump is an assemblage of barrels which have flowed down from senior wines in the d’Arenberg stable. It also includes parcels from up and coming local growers. The winemaking at d’Arenberg has changed little over several generations, it remains very traditional and simplistic. All the reds are vinified in headed down open fermenters prior to a traditional basket press. Stump Jump was matured in a combination of seasoned French and American oak barriques and large oak casks prior to estate bottling.
