A close affinity to the land, respect for the vine and dedicated viticulture is the key to making great wines, with an emphasis placed on maximising grape quality through sustainable agricultural techniques. Wildwood are recognised for their consistency and purity of varietal expression, despite the sometimes challenging nature of vintage conditions. Bunches of Chardonnay grapes are hand harvested off vines planted to deep red loam soils and immediately whole bunch pressed. Following inoculation and vinification, Wildwood is treated to a spell of maturation in a selection of new high quality oak barrels to develop layers of complexity, integrating the fruit and infusing the palate with texture.
