The Symington family, owners operators of the prestigious Warres, Cockburn and Dow brands, acquired Quinta do Vesuvio in 1989, re planting and expanding the vineyards to over a hundred forty hectares. The property is fundamentally north facing, with seven hills, seven valleys and altitudes from 130 to 530 metres.
