Warburn Estate has produced lavish Trophy winning Merlots throughout it's entire range, and has applied it's hard won winemaking accumen to the Gossips non-vintage Merlot. A multi regional blend that's been blended to near perfection and offers oodles of Merlot characteristicness. There's warm nuances of baked cherries, green olive, truffle and mulberry combined with a relaxed tannin background and soft woody hints. A stylish and modern everyday table red that's sure to be very popular and reflects the winemaking skills of Warburn Estate and its precise understanding of Merlot.
Warburn Estate has more than 1,000 hectares under vines, and successfully brings together further fruit from a larger area of grape growing districts to blend into the handsomely flavoured Gossips Merlot. The ample family holdings have given winemaker Sam Trimboli an extremely competitive edge through tight control over grape quality that serves as the backbone for this multi regional red. Produced primarily from small parcels of vines throughout southeastern Australia, sourced from their own vineyards and selected growers.
TASTING NOTES
Colour is a velvety medium red with bluish robes. An opulent nose of red berry fruits and quiet gentle spice. A rich, ripe and juicy palate of raspberry, plum fruit balanced by softly integrated oak. Complex flavours of sweet leather, mulberry, tobacco leaf and ripe berries lead into a smooth, warm finish. A wonderfully perfumed and flavoursome easy drinking red that's an ideal accompaniment to red meat dishes.

About Warburn Estate Winery
Warburn Estate's outstanding success has been achieved through it's expertise in traditional winemaking and innovative techniques
Warburn Estate is located near Griffith in New South Wales, in the centre of the large Riverina grape-growing and agricultural region. Warburn Estate is one of New South Wales most significant wine producers with more than 1000 hectares under vine, a crush capacity of 40,000 tonnes, tank storage for 35 million litres of wine and an annual turnover of $40 million. Warburn Estate proudly remains a private company, maintaining its winemaking independence with the ability to quickly respond to market demands and client needs. The company (formerly Riverina Wines Pty Ltd), is owned by the Sergi family, whose winemaking traditions began in Italy many years ago. Migrants Giuseppe and his son Antonio began to grow grapes on their farm and making wines for his family and friends using old barrels and hand made machinery. He would often sell bulk wine in 200 litre drums, a practice common in Italian cantinas, and would travel extensively throughout Australia to supply his customers. Warburn Estate»
