The Macallan releases cask strength Malts to give fans the opportunity to taste in a natural cask strength, as it comes direct from the cask to the bottle. Most whisky is sold at 43% alcohol by volume and this is achieved by adding water to the whisky to reduce the alcoholic strength. Macallan maintains a very well organised and defined wood policy, utilising a broad mix of first and second fill oak sherry casks from Spain to obtain whisky to meet the standards of the most exquisite of finest Scotch Malts
