A smooth, powerful and intense Chardonnay of great complexity. Wild yeast, lees and elegant, well-integrated oak combine with Tallarook's intense green melon and citrus flavours, to form a harmonious palate with deeply satisfying texture and lingering, savoury aftertaste.
Tallarook vineyards are situated on the northern slopes of the Great Divide Mountain Ranges in Central Victoria, between Broadford and Seymour, at an elevation of 200-300 metres. The moderately sized blocks yield Chardonnay fruit of impressive flavour profiles. The superior winecraft of the estate's vinicultural team has seen an unbroken lineage of exceptional Chardonnays throughout the many vintages. A period of stirring on it's wild yeat lees has created a Chardonnay wine with texture that's comforting, quite smooth and creamy, with a very long and persistent finish.
TASTING NOTES
Almond meal and biscuit like characters with some mineral components. The fruit is melon and peach, and there are also some roasted qualities, derived from fermentation and extended maturation in the oak barrels. The palate is where these different flavours merge together. This wine relies on the combination of flavours and textures, and not merely sheer volume.

About Tallarook Wines
Tallarook is situated on an elevated yet protected site, among rugged hills on the northern slopes of Central Victoria's Great Dividing Range
The original Tallarook Vineyards form part of a property named Dabyminga. Established first in the 1980s and purchased in 1992 by the Riebl family, these vineyards and the wines produced under the Tallarook label represent a pioneering effort for the Tallarook district. The land was once part of the territories of the Goulburn Aboriginal tribes. Before white settlement, it was one of the most densely populated areas in Australia. Dabyminga derives from "Ab'minga" (snaketracks) in the language of the Natramboolok tribe. In the same language, Tallarook means "call of the wattlebird". Tallarook»
