A lively and discernibly Australian construct of Pinot Grigio, fashioned by an estate that's put a vibrant new world flourish into an already highly stylised old world grape. Warburn collates the best parcels of Pinot Grigio from vineyards that are trained to grow the choicest clones of this esoteric varietal.
Giuseppe and Antonio Sergi began Warburn by growing grapes on their farm to make wines for family and friends, using old barrels and hand made machinery. Today's Warburn Estate can boast a long and fruitful experience at growing and handling the Italian varietal grapes that positively thrive around the sultry climes of Riverina. Vines are managed to the strictest standards, trained for low yields of intensely flavoured grapes. Parcels of Pinot Grigio are whole bunch pressed to retain maximum flavour, then cool fermented for seven to ten days at controlled temperatures of 15C to 18C. The wine is bottled immediately after vinification to retain expression of the vineyard and capture vivacity of fruit. Alcohol 11.5%
TASTING NOTES
Light, straw gold colour. Vibrant mineral notes with lemon and white peach aromas. Characters of melon and guava, the crispness of apple and pear. Flavours of spice and apple with a mineral feel all leading to a pleasantly dry finish. An extremely food friendly wine to serve chilled, it's clean acidity and fruit make it a perfect foil for the spiciness of Thai food and other light asian dishes.

About Warburn Estate Wines
Warburn Estate's outstanding success has been achieved through it's expertise in traditional winemaking and innovative techniques
Warburn Estate is located near Griffith in New South Wales, in the centre of the large Riverina grape-growing and agricultural region. Warburn Estate is one of New South Wales most significant wine producers with more than 1000 hectares under vine, a crush capacity of 40,000 tonnes, tank storage for 35 million litres of wine and an annual turnover of $40 million. Warburn Estate proudly remains a private company, maintaining its winemaking independence with the ability to quickly respond to market demands and client needs. The company (formerly Riverina Wines Pty Ltd), is owned by the Sergi family, whose winemaking traditions began in Italy many years ago. Migrants Giuseppe and his son Antonio began to grow grapes on their farm and making wines for his family and friends using old barrels and hand made machinery. He would often sell bulk wine in 200 litre drums, a practice common in Italian cantinas, and would travel extensively throughout Australia to supply his customers. Warburn Estate»
