Fresh from the Rymill stable, Yearling is a graceful one year old Cabernet, specially trained to present lively fruit aromas over a soft, supple structure, immediately upon release. Yearling explodes the myth that Coonawarra Cabernet needs to be cellared and aged before it's ready to drink. The softness and affability makes it the ideal partner to traditional red meats, intermediate dishes like pizzas, pastas or curry, versatile enough to accompany game and white meats. This vibrant and approachable Coonawarra Cabernet is perfect for enjoyment right now.
Crafted without compromise by the highly accomplished Rymill viticultural winemaking team. Coonawarra's reputation as a producer of weighty Cabernet wines belies it's capacity to produce fully ripe early drinkers. Yearling has been subject to the same adroit vinification techniques lavished on the Rymill flagships. An exclusively estate grown wine with fresh aromatics by virtue of cool maceration and expeditious ferments. The soft, supple and approachable structure has been achieved by an early, gentle pressing. Designed to be forward drinking and fruit driven, components have been treated to minimal maturation in French oak barriques.
TASTING NOTES
Dark cherry red. Blackberry and currants, tomato leaf and rhubarb, mint and strawberry nose. Spicy and herbaceous palate, velvety and round. Yearling is finely structured and well integrated, dusty tannins matching the dash of fruit and spice. The finish is deliciously refreshing with elements of mint and plenty of fresh, juicy fruit. Generous with good weight behind it, a highly approachable Cabernet to enjoy upon release.

More About Rymill Wines
The Rymill winery, steeped in history, is situated within The Riddoch Run Vineyards at the northern end of the famous Terra Rossa strip
Coonawarra patriarch John Riddoch struck gold at the Ovens Valley goldfields in 1852, before establishing himself as a wholesale wine and general merchant in Geelong. He eventually settled near Penola, at shearing time in 1861. The Riddoch Run eventually expanded to 50,000ha, carrying 110,000 sheep and 3,000 cattle, and extended from Comaum in the north to Mt Gambier Airport in the south. During his subsequent four decades of community service Riddoch was Chairman of the Penola District Council for 25 years, and also the local Member of Parliament from 1865 to 1873, obtaining roads and education for the region. The Riddoch Highway and Mt Gambier's Riddoch Art Gallery currently commemorate his name. Rymill»
