About Barratt Wines
Barratt Wines, acclaimed for its award winning specialty Pinot Noir, is a family owned and operated winery in the Piccadilly Valley, the premium grape growing region of South Australia's Adelaide Hills
Lindsay Barratt was previously a physician and retired entirely from medicine in 2001 to realise his dream of handcrafting the wine from beginning to end - growing and caring for the vines (which he has done since 1990 when the Uley property was acquired) and, since 2001, taking the grapes through the process of specialised winemaking. After having achieved his Graduate Diploma in Oenology at the University of Adelaide in 2002, he has taken control of all the wine produced under the Barratt label at the Lobethal winery. Barratt sources grapes from two small vineyards, Uley and Bonython, to produce quality wines handcrafted to exacting standards. The Adelaide Hills are a challenging region in which to grow grapes and make win and Lindsay Barratt loves a challenge!

It was on October 2 1851 that Francis Treloar purchased his first piece of land in Watervale on which the historic Quelltaler winery stands today
On January 3, 1853 Treloar and his family moved to their new home in Watervale. The house was a simple hut like so many in which pioneer families began their farming lives. On June 15, 1854 Treloar planted his first patch of vines which he obtained as cuttings from a Mr Solly.
About Angus Wines
The philosophy behind Angus The Bull is to create a unique and innovative wine that provides an ideal accompaniment to prime beef
Angus the Bull was a simple idea that just wouldn't go away. It soon became an obsession and then when it reached the point where it occupied all his waking moments, Hamish MacGowan finally decided 'enough was enough' and in 2003 established the Aberdeen Wine Company to turn his unique concept into a reality. With all his energy now focused entirely on creating a new brand positioned to provide the ideal vinous accompaniment to prime beef, he chose to work exclusively with his favourite variety, Cabernet Sauvignon and set about locating the most promising parcels from across Victoria and South Australia. Confident he had achieved the required wine style and developed a very deliberate marketing strategy backed up with some smart packaging, Hamish launched his debut 2002 vintage, and hasn't looked back since.
About Angoves Wines
The Angove family company is one of Australia's largest privately owned wine companies and stands as one of the few with strong interests in distilling as well as grape growing and winemaking
The origins of Angove's as a company have more to do with satisfying a way of life rather than a determination to establish a wine and brandy producing business. Dr. William Angove, an accomplished general practitioner and surgeon with his wife and young family, emigrated from Cornwall in 1886 to establish a medical practice in South Australia. His early experimentation with vines, winemaking and distilling, led to the establishment of a proud family business. Dr. Angove's initial plantings at the township of Tea Tree Gully in the Adelaide foothills were the forerunner of one of the largest vineyards in the southern hemisphere - the magnificent Nanya Vineyard at Renmark in South Australia's Riverland.
