David Traeger wines were established at Nagambie in the 1980s, after a highly distinguished stewardship at neighbouring Mitchelton. Traeger now sits on the board of directors at the hugely successful Dromana Estate. He remains passionate about producing elegant and distinctive vintages, which articulate the unique personality of Victoria's great winegrowing regions. Crafted from the pick of Goulburn and Nagambie fruit, David Trager endures as one of the nation's most widely recognized pure varietal whites, arguably the finest Verdelho in the land.

Something of a signature for David Traeger, his Verdelho remains a stylistic hallmark for Australia. The unique qualities of the Verdelho grape as vinified by the likes of Traeger have achieved a national marketing edge. Fruit is sourced from specialised sites which are husbanded to yield grapes which can meet the exacting standards of a demanding winemaker, the Avenel vineyard at Nagambie Lakes and from good sites throughout central Victoria. Bottled early without any oak, all handling is completely reductive to aid in retaining vibrant fruit character.
