Moondah Brook are one of Western Australia's elder winemaking estates, established 1968 at Gingin, just north of Perth. The site was chosen after a lengthy survey to determine a location most suitable to viticulture. Uniqu mesoclimes, sea breezes in the afternoon and gully winds of an evening assist with the reduction in temperatures at ripening, allowing the wines to capture and express great varietal character. The estate was later acquired by Houghton and continues to represent superior quality within an approchable range of wines. Choice parcels of Chenin Blanc are harvested throughout the cool of night at lower temperatures, vinified in controlled fermenters and bottled early to retain freshness.
