Throughout the 1960s, editions of Grange were regularly entered into wine shows with considerable success, two vintages claimed the prestigious Jimmy Watson Trophy. A blend of 94% Shiraz and 6% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Kalimna and other superior Barossa vineyards, Clare Valley and Magill Estate. A fairly dry growing season was followed by a warm vintage, just in time for picking. The first Grange ever to include a component of Clare Valley fruit, a lighter, more elegant and fragrant style of Shiraz, Max Schubert considered vintage 1967 to be excellent and grossly underrated ny pundits. The completed wine was matured eighteen months in a selection of new American oak hogsheads. Alcohol 12.7%
